Croissants have seem to have a sudden, random and unexplained re-emergence of popular in Thailand since the arrival of Paul and Eric Kayser. But wherever and however the latest pandemic era food fad started is less important than how to proper join in on the craze. From established bakeries to new and independent homegrown ones, here’s where you can find some of the best craft croissants in Bangkok.
The crowd at James Boulangerie starts formulating as early as 8am daily. Some of the recommended croissants are the vanilla caramel macadamia croissant (230 baht), the dark chocolate croissant (150 baht) and the almond croissant (120 baht). James’ croissants may be on the pricer side but we’re telling you, they’re certainly worth it.

Now with two branches—one on Sathorn Soi 7 and one on Ari Soi 2—Kenn’s Coffee & Croissant is a petite, glass-windowed bakery that lets in a lot of nice daylight. Fans hail the croissants here for being perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Order the classic plain croissant (65 baht) or the chocolate croissant (70 baht) made with imported French dark chocolat.

Known for their snack boxes and catering service, La Patis is a French bakery in Bangkok that prides itself on its premium ingredient. The croissants at La Patis are made with real French butter and include variations like the croque croissant (135 baht), mini matcha (55 baht), raspberry croissant (55-85 baht) and aromatic chocolate croissant (50 baht).

With more than 110 outlets worldwide and now in its fourth generation, the famous French bakery makes some of the world’s best pastries and Thailand is lucky to have a couple of branches. An unshakable boss when it comes to French bakery, Paul’s pastries and bread withstand the fleetingness of any Thai food fad. For croissants specifically, there are so many hits on the menu, including the ham-cheese (150 baht), plain (75 baht) and almond (110 baht), as well as fuller sized meals like the croissant and eggs benedict with ham (290 baht) or croissant and eggs benedict with smoked salmon (300 baht).
