Anytime Adele releases anything, it’s always a big deal as it doesn’t happen too often and, well, she’s Adele. Today, six years after her last album, 25, the songstress dropped the first single of her upcoming album, 30, leaving fan ever more impatient for the November 19, 2021 release date. Titled, Easy On Me, the single, in true Adele fashion, covers love, loss and life’s reflection. Her albums all connected by a theme of periods in her life, 30 will tackle the artist’s heartbreaking divorce, motherhood and scrutiny of fame. It’s yet again a more adult Adele but guaranteed to be just as emotional, if not more. The singer talks about the process of writing 30 on her Instagram. She wrote, “I learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life. And so, I’m ready to release this album.”
For the music video of Easy On Me, Adele reunited with her Hello music video director, Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan, and fans did not miss the consistency in style. Watch and listen to Easy On Me here:
