Stella McCartney Launches ‘Shared 3’, Collaborating with Talents of Tomorrow

Three artists, three visions, Stella’s values

Bringing moral values to the fashion industry, Stella McCartney has launched Shared 3: a capsule of unisex elements designed with sustainable materials including organic cotton, recycled nylon, regenerated cashmere, and traceable wool from regenerative farms. The collection explores shared values and aesthetics, bridging generations, geography, and gender. Inspired by ‘Y is for Youth’ from the McCartney A to Z Manifesto, the house enlisted the talents and perspectives of three future creative forces from the next generation: Ed Curtis in London, Maisie Broome (Myfawnwy) in New York City, and Tom Tosseyn in Antwerp.

Not only did each artist collaborate with Stella for the collection, but Ed Curtis and Myfawnwy also shot campaigns to bring the collections to life. Blending fantasy and reality, the Stella Shared 3 palette combines youthful bursts of color with neutral tones which embody prints eccentrically, clashing classics with contemporary sensibilities.

Ed Curtis

London artist and designer Ed Curtis created clashing psychedelic prints for a range of knitwear (made with traceable wool from regenerative farms), which will be instantly recognizable to Ed’s adherents. His hand-painted graffiti Stella logo brings a countercultural demeanor to nylon puffer jackets, organic cotton jumpers, and Stella’s iconic vegan Falabella bag.

Queens, New York-based artist and designer Maisie Broome (AKA Myfawnwy) applies hand-marbled prints and painted suns and flowers to organic cotton jersey T-shirts for the release. Her signature styles bring a progressive positivity to the collection, which also includes silk sets, coordinated short-sleeved button-ups, voluminous track trousers, boxer shorts, and a crew neck jumper.

Next in line is Antwerp-based graphic artist Tom Tosseyn, who reinterprets the Stella logo in a futuristic style, transforming the S into a lightning bolt and yin yang. The Dutch design powerhouse, who counts the likes of Raf Simons, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen, Tim Coppens, AF Vandevorst, Acne Jeans, and Adidas Y-3 in his client list, alliterates the logo across conscious luxury pieces such as regenerated nylon bombers, recycled fleece, and organic cotton denim.

The whole collection is created by conversation and collaboration, an exchange of diverse and creative ideas by the works of three talented artists, not forgetting the importance of youth and moral values within the fashion industry. The Stella Shared 3 collection can easily be called ethical fashion, never failing to inspire and impress.
