Reverb is hitting the road with Billie Eilish for her Happier Than Ever World Tour, to help reduce its environmental footprint and increase its positive impact. Sticking to her words, the award-winning artist announced last year that her 2022 world tour would be climate positive.
When it comes to environmental issues and social justice, Billie is not one to back down. Consistently using her platform to speak out against these concerns, she has partnered with Reverb for her world tour to reduce the footprint of playing huge shows. Aiming to help bands minimize their environmental impact, Reverb is a non-profit that partners with musicians, festivals, and venues to make the industry more sustainable. Their Music Climate Revolution project also helps educate and empower fans to take climate action.
From transportation to hotel stays, all of the Happier Than Ever tour’s carbon emissions will be carefully calculated. The carbon elimination is achieved through funding diverse global projects with a focus on frontline and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities facing the worst effects of the climate crisis.
Efforts include incentivised education programs, transparency across the tour, plant-based food and drink options, and upcycled merch. Support + Feed, a plant-based non-profit organization fighting food insecurity—founded by Maggie Baird, mother of Billie and Finneas—will also be in attendance at every Billie show.
In a press release for the Music Climate Revolution, Billie says she thrilled to work with Reverb to make climate action part of her tour and everything she does. “We face a climate emergency, and we all have a responsibility to spread that call to action.”
