1/5 Unnecessary Drama

The perks of being a wallflower includes being a part of a conversation and still going unnoticed. Debuting his solo show, Arm Wantaya takes advantage of his role as a “sidekick” in social interactions and expresses his feelings and observations through his art. “To calm myself down, I try to look at the funny side of things, almost making fun of the topic or people,” the artist said, explaining the usage of his cartoon-esque style and playful colours.

2/5 Emotional Virus

Napat Leelahapong is the winner of the 9th Bualuang Creative Artist award and a teacher who is passionate about guiding students through emotional issues. His exhibition, entitled “Emotional Virus”, takes inspiration from how negative feelings, such as stress and depression, impact humans like an undetectable virus. He urges viewers to take a closer look at mental health while also learning how to cope with depression in a healthy manner.

3/5 Misremembered but not Forgotten

Drawing from the artist’s experience of diaspora and individualism, “Misremembered but not Forgotten” is an exhibition that references family and nostalgia through abstract paintings. Trey Hurst leans on ghostly silhouettes and seamless flow to illustrate the fractured memory of his home, Southern Louisiana. Plunge yourself into Hurst’s work and reminisce your own history.

“Paintings that make people feel” is the principle that Chaiyot Jindagun adheres to when making his art. Bending light, shadows, and swift lines, the exhibition is sure to capture your emotions.
