This week’s picks feature a number of events that creatives will love. From a contemporary dance performance and a couple of exhibitions to a charity dinner with mandala painting-inspired dishes, here are this week’s Koktail Curated:
Mia is partnering with artist Amy Diener for a charitable meal. A unique intersection of gastronomy and the arts, the five-course tasting menu is inspired by Diener’s trademark mandala dot paintings. Both the restaurant and the artist will donate 10 per cent of their revenue from the event and the purchased paintings to the Freedom Restoration Project, a non-profit organisation that focuses on helping victims of domestic abuse in Thai-Burmese migrant communities.

The exhibition is divided into three parts or “chapters”: “The White Period”, a reflection of his battle with depression; “The Muse”, a slice of his romantic life; and finally, “Cubism”, a series of vibrant and muted cubist portraits of the personal and spiritual figures he holds dear.

Showcasing his “love-hate relationship with China”, the contradicting imagery portrays youthful models against Chinese props, juxtaposing traditional elements with unapologetic poses.
