TasteAtlas recently revealed the ‘100 Best Traditional Food in the World’. Thai cuisine can always be found throughout the list—even taking the top spot in previous years. This time around, three spicy Thai dishes made it to the index: phanaeng curry (#6), massaman curry (#40), and green curry (#73). The publication described its sixth spot as:
Phanaeng curry is a variety of Thai curry that is characterized by its thick texture and a salty-sweet peanut flavor. It consists of meat that is stewed with dried chilis, kaffir lime leaves, coconut milk, cilantro, cumin, garlic, lemongrass, shallots, and peanuts.
