In the world of fashion, where trends constantly evolve, the collaboration between luxury brands and animals has been a long-standing phenomenon. From the past to the present, numerous stars or models have participated in campaigns or photoshoots featuring animals. Koktail sheds light on famous brands that have incorporated our four-legged friends into their advertising campaigns.
The latest talk of the town revolves around BLACKPINK’s Jennie and her collaboration with Jacquemus for the “Guirlande” Holiday 2023 Campaign. Decked out in holiday ensembles of green and red, Jennie showcases the brand’s collection and shares the spotlight with pooch friends.
From matching silver ballet flats to cosy moments with a golden retriever, the campaign captures the festive spirit with a delightful canine twist. Jacquemus’s “Guirlande” collection features classic holiday colours and silver accessories that resemble tinsel, offering a unique and heartwarming take on holiday fashion.
In 1995, Madonna graced Gianni Versace’s promotional ad campaigns, captured by Steven Meisel for Gianni Versace Atelier Spring/Summer 1995.
The iconic black-and-white photograph showcased Madonna dining face-to-maw with a large dog, creating a bold visual narrative. This collaboration exemplifies the cross-breed of high fashion and canine elegance, making a statement that transcends time.

Givenchy’s Autumn/Winter 2017 campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, took a different approach by featuring models alongside adorable cats. Elias Bouremah, Kolton Bowen, Meghan Roche, and Saffron Vadher posed with feline companions donning collars designed by Clare Weight Keller, the new designer of Givenchy at that time.
The black-and-white photos celebrated the artistic synergy between models and their charming catty counterparts.
In May 2022, CELINE released its first range of pet items and accessories, starring artistic director Hedi Slimane’s dog, Elvis.
The collection, designed with Elvis in mind, reimagines iconic CELINE silhouettes for pets, featuring leather collars, leashes, water bowls, and bags in black and brown. Lisa from BLACKPINK, a brand ambassador since 2020, also features in the campaign, showcasing the blend of fashion and pet accessories.
Dior, a pioneer in unveiling Chinese New Year campaigns, presented a video featuring Chinese supermodels You Tianyi and Liu Tinglei in its Spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The campaign, dropped on December, showcased a jewellery line and a men’s collection designed by Kim Jones and Eli Russel Linnetz, expanding Dior’s reach to a broader consumer base. The campaign features a charming rabbit, enriching the visual storytelling.
These brand campaigns demonstrate the intersection of high fashion and the animal kingdom, adding a touch of whimsy and personality to the often-serious world of luxury brands. They represent a celebration of the bond between humans and animals, which also broadens the appeal of these fashion houses to an animal loving audience.
