Adidas has dropped an exciting new collaboration with Japanese artist Hiroko Takahashi, who is known for her graphic styles and innovating on tradition. The collection centres around a bold graphic pattern, which Takahashi explains “is composed of several layers of circles, to express the images of human connection, circulation, regeneration and infinity. The solid, powerful graphic collection evokes the excitement of Tokyo this summer.”
Besides hoodies, tees, sneakers and your other regular sportswear item, the collection includes modern yukata and other twists on traditional Japanese silhouettes for Japanophiles out there.
Here are a few of the highlights of Adidas X Hiroko Takahashi:
One of the highlights of the collection is the kimono-style happi jacket (¥8,789 or approximately 2,631 baht) for men. You can choose between black and white or blue and white colorways. It’s made from Adidas Aeroready fabric, which absorbs sweat, so a must-have for Bangokians.
Available only on the Japanese website.
For women, there’s the chic traditional summer yukata (¥8,789 or approximately 2,631 baht). Same with the happi jacket, there are two color options: black and white or blue and white colorways. Partially made from recycled polyester, the yukata also possesses the same cooling capabilities as the happi.
Available only on the Japanese website.
Showing off both modern Japanese design and the artist’s signature print, the playful Tokyo Pack Pouch (800 baht) fits perfectly with adjustable straps.
For kids, the Altaswim Sandals (900 baht), available in two color combo options: signal pink and cloud white or core black and cloud white. Providing sure-footed traction and support when being active, the outsole is quick-drying and grooved for flexibility.
Takashi hasn’t forgotten about kimonos for kids. The collection features a kimono-style jacket and shorts set, or the unisex jinbei set, also made from the same cooling Aeroready material and come in two colors options: black and white or blue and white colorways
Available only on the Japanese website.
The artist has also amped up the classic Adidas Superstar Sneaker (3,200 baht). While embracing the rubber cupsole that has stayed the same since the ‘70s, Takashi has added her unique print on the soles and the toe cap. The sneakers are available in black and white.
