Spooky Recipes For A Halloween At Home

Treat your friends and family to some deliciously edible ghosts, mummies and more

With it being a commercially dry Halloween this year in Bangkok, perhaps many of you will opt to get dressed and host a Halloween house party or head to one your friend is hosting. If so, you might want to consider contributing some homemade Halloween themed baked goods. Here are some of our favorite, creatively ghoulish recipes for Hallow’s Eve 2021.

Mummy Brie

Ingredients:

1 Round Brie
1 Sheet of Puff Pastry
1 Large Egg
1 Tbsp of Milk
2 Mini Pepperonis
2 Sliced Black Olives

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 celsius. Unroll and cut puff pastry into 1 inch strips and wrap them around the brie like a mummy.

  2. For the eyes, place two mini pepperonis into two sliced olives.

  3. Whisk egg and milk and then brush over the puff pastry, then transfer the brie to a baking sheet.

  4. Bake the brie for 20 minutes until it is gooey and deeply golden. Serve with crackers!

Eerie Eyeball Pops

Ingredients:

220 grams of Oreos
100-120 grams of Full Fat Cream Cheese
200-250 grams of Melted White Chocolate

For Decoration:
Red, White and Black Royal Icing
Red Icing Pen
Plastic Fork/Skewer

Steps:

  1. Beat oreos until it becomes biscuit crumbs. Add in cream cheese and beat until the mixture is smooth.

  2. Roll a small amount of the mixture into the palm of your hand into a neat ball.

  3. Place the oreo balls onto a tray lined with baking sheets and place in the fridge until it becomes firm.

  4. Dip the oreo balls into melted white chocolate, drain off the excess and place back onto baking paper.

  5. For the eye, roll the red and black icing to 2 mm thick. For the outer circle of the eye use the end of an icing nozzle around 2cm wide to cut out a circle from the red icing. Using a smaller piping nozzle cut out a circle of black icing to form the pupil.

  6. Using a red icing pen, add a tiny dot of white icing to the corner of the pupil to create a reflection and pipe veins onto the truffle.

  7. Place a fork or skewer into the truffle to serve!
