Thai rapper Milli has given mango sticky rice a boost in terms of search trends. Milli’s performance at Coachella 2022 has left the world in need of some mouth-watering mango sticky rice. The young rapper did not only fire up the stage in her bright red outfit, but she also promoted Thai culture. 1/6 Mae Varee

Tucked away in Thonglor, Mae Varee has some of the best mango sticky rice in Bangkok. Using quality ingredients, they have been making mango sticky rice for over 20 years. Apart from serving the traditional way, they also present the dish in other flavors including green tea, pandan, and turmeric.

2/6 Boonsap (Kun Luang)

What makes Boonsap popular among locals is its history. Having been in service for over eight decades, the mango sticky rice is famous for its thickened coconut milk. Although they have a small space, they do provide takeaway.

4/6 Muhammad Rosdee

While it’s a bit further out, Muhammad Rosdee has been serving mango sticky rice for over 40 years, making this a worthwhile trip. Made for takeaway, their mango sticky rice has just the right amount of coconut cream balanced against the salty-sweet of the sticky rice.

5/6 Somtum Khun Kan

Despite being famous for their somtum, their sweet and mellow mango sticky rice washes away the spicy meal. Somtum Khun Kan has been listed on the Guinness World Records for serving the largest mango sticky rice ever made on January 20th, 2019. Over 200 people took part in the cooking, and the monolithic dessert was made with about 1,500kg of sticky rice, 2,300kg of coconut milk, and over 5,000 mangoes topped with sugar and salt.
