“Come on, girl!” in Isaan dialect, Ma – Der – La! is the solo exhibition of Thai contemporary artist Ittiphon Phattarachon, who incorporates a touch of pop art into Thai traditional paintings. The works aim to engage with the community rather than be abstract and require interpretation. As such, the story of the Buddha is still the same, just brighter and with more joyful colours so that audiences of all ages can enjoy.
