Aespa, a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment, consists of four members: Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. Known for popularising the metaverse concept and hyperpop music in K-pop, they debuted on November 17, 2020, with “Black Mamba,” setting a record for the most views for a K-pop debut video in 24 hours.
Their hit “Next Level” peaked at number two on the Circle Digital Chart and earned multiple Song of the Year awards. Their EPs Savage (2021), Girls (2022), and My World (2023) all achieved significant commercial success, with Girls debuting at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200.
Now, Aespa is back with a future world, sci-fi, and superpowers theme. The “Supernova” music video, the title track for Aespa’s first full-length studio album “Armageddon,” showcases the members with special powers such as wind, fire, strength, and time travel, causing chaos in the human world.
