Bangkok Goes Cyber: Tour the City Like You’re in Aespa’s ‘Supernova’ MV! Check Out the Futuristic Spots.

Take a look at the futuristic side of Bangkok, transformed into a sci-fi paradise just like in Aespa’s ‘Supernova’ music video.

We’ve got the ultimate list of must-visit places that capture those high-tech vibes.

Aespa, a South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment, consists of four members: Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning. Known for popularising the metaverse concept and hyperpop music in K-pop, they debuted on November 17, 2020, with “Black Mamba,” setting a record for the most views for a K-pop debut video in 24 hours.

Their hit “Next Level” peaked at number two on the Circle Digital Chart and earned multiple Song of the Year awards. Their EPs Savage (2021), Girls (2022), and My World (2023) all achieved significant commercial success, with Girls debuting at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Now, Aespa is back with a future world, sci-fi, and superpowers theme. The “Supernova” music video, the title track for Aespa’s first full-length studio album “Armageddon,” showcases the members with special powers such as wind, fire, strength, and time travel, causing chaos in the human world.

For those who observe carefully, many prominent scenes in the “Supernova” music video were shot in Bangkok. Let’s take a closer look at the locations:

Giselle is at Chong Nonsi Skywalk.

Winter is at MTT Sport Center near Muang Thong Thani.

Ningning is at Champs Elysees Tiwanon.

Karina is at All Seasons Place, Wireless Road.

These locations, enhanced by lighting, colour grading, camera angles, and editing, create a striking sci-fi atmosphere. Who would have thought that everyday office buildings and sports centres could be transformed into futuristic scenes?
