Bangkok Cafe Bonci Collaborates with Thai Artist Gongkan

Since the artist is known for his love for coffee, it makes perfect sense to opt for a cafe collab: ‘Bonci x Gongkan The Collaboration’

Scandinavian inspired cafe Bonci has collaborated with the talented Thai artist Kantapon Metheekul, or Gongkan, who also happens to be our very own Future Lister.

Apart from being known for his saturnine looks and love for coffee, the founder of teleport art is more acclaimed for the most surreal minimalist drawings that reflect a hue of whimsy and dark humour. His art pieces often reflect sadness, isolation, and social issues, which are sometimes quirky and he labels them as ‘gongkanthings’. He finds social media a double-edged sword and hopes his work can help heal those who are suffering from poverty, inequality and digital abuse.

Gongkan has tapped into Bangkok’s popular cafe Bonci where the space has been crafted with his signature motifs. The windows, walls, counters, coffee cups, and limited merchandise has all been occupied with his eccentric artwork. Even a few exclusive items on the menu have been added, called “Black Hole Series”, drinks include Black Hole Mocha, Black Hole Cocoa, Stardust, and Teleport Cake. With Gongkan’s drawings on Bonci’s drinks, they are as delicious as they look.

Perfect for snapping pics at the Sculpture Teleport, a Gongkan-style photo booth, only available at Bonci Saphankwai.

Bonci x Gongkan The Collaboration is available at both Bonci Saphankwai, which is closed on Tuesdays, and Bonci Sukhumvit, which is closed on Wednesdays.
