The 1975 is coming to Bangkok in 2023

This will mark the band’s first performance in Asia since 2019

English alternative pop-rock band The 1975 is set to bring their addictive sounds to Bangkok as part of their At Their Very Best Tour. Marking their third time in Bangkok, the four-piece will be performing on April 4, next year, at Impact Arena.

Based in Manchester, the band consists of lead vocalist, producer, lyricist and rhythm guitarist Matty Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer/producer George Daniel. During the early days of the band, they would perform punk covers in local clubs, opening for several major acts. The 1975 released a series of EPs throughout 2012 before launching their self-titled debut album a year later, which would include popular singles like “Sex”, “Chocolate”, “Robbers”, and “Girls”.

In 2016, the band released their second album, I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it, which reached number one in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Their third (A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, 2018) and fourth (Notes on a Conditional Form, 2020) albums continued to hit the number one spot in the UK and received widespread critical acclaim. They recently released their fifth and newest album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language, on October 14, 2022, a collection of a more stripped-down sound.

The band has been praised for their exploration genres, including pop-rock, synth-pop, indie rock, electropop, jazz, soul, and gospel. Their lyricism, often deeply personal and self-deprecating, has also contributed to their popularity among young listeners, not to mention lead vocalist Matty Healy’s eccentric stage presence.
