Sarith Eurasian Maison, operating from a shop front at Jing Jai market, is owned by culinary couple Pimmada Kankulsuntorn and partner, chef Chindarnai “Dan” Boonchaliew of the renowned restaurant Redbox. Classy touches show, from the décor to the food on the plate. Chef Dan’s culinary philosophy embraces environmental sustainability with commitment to organic, free-range meat. The menu is concise but sufficient to please even the most demanding diners. Begin with a selection of appetisers, perhaps a trio of crunchy and juicy bean curd prawn rolls, perfectly handcrafted gyozas, or Szechuan wontons in a chili-enhanced soy sauce. The main reason many come here is the stand-out Singaporean chicken rice and grilled honey chicken rice, tender and juicy premium quality chicken, perfectly steamed, roasted, or mixed, with well-executed accompaniments, and presented on an attractive wooden tray. Both as good as you may find anywhere in the Lion City itself. For dessert, try a flavourful mango sticky rice ice cream, young coconut ice cream, or green mango sorbet.
