Situated in one of Bangkok’s premier lifestyle malls, this stylish restaurant is a fine option for a leisurely lunch or post-shopping spree dinner. Expect a warm welcome from manager Wisanukorn “Korn” Wanapake, but don’t expect a wine list. Instead, let sommelier Dirakerit Kotchawong guide you through the forty or more vintages displayed within a chilled wall cabinet running the length of the passageway to the intimate dining area. Head chef Thanatip Butdee’s menu showcases European classics and tapas offerings prepared with contemporary flair. A recommended opening is his rich French onion soup served under a dome of flaky, buttery pastry. The combination of caramelised onions and melted cheese provides a knockout combination of both sweet and tangy flavours. Try it with heirloom tomato salad as a refreshing counterpoint. When it comes to mains, an excellent sharing option is Okan wagyu tomahawk steak, but also consider wagyu beef tagliatelle, a meaty ragù of deep savoury richness. Piquant spiced crab linguine makes for a lighter option. Check out other signature dishes, including grilled chicken supreme, chilli and garlic tiger prawns, grilled Iberico pork pluma and delicately sweet and slightly nutty, seared Hokkaido scallops. End the meal with chef Thanatip’s take on crème brûlée, in which he cuts the creaminess of this classic dessert with a zesty citrus burst of orange.
A trio provides live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.
