Review

Open for several years now, this neighbourhood osteria has firmly established itself as part of the Bangkok dining landscape. Effervescent owner Andrea Bernardi is always present, effortlessly gliding between tables, warmly greeting regular diners, welcoming new customers, and recommending the best of the day. The restaurant is named after the 300-km road built by the Romans over 2,000 years ago along the Italian region of Emilia Romagna, and the cuisine reflects this. The restaurant sits in a leafy Sathorn soi, with a rustic interior, featuring outdoor seating and a lively and fun ambiance. Begin with a regional speciality of cotechino di modena con crema di patate: slow-cooked traditional Emilia sliced pork sausage with creamy mashed potatoes, simple yet perfectly executed. Or carpaccio di manzo all’olio di Brisighella: finely sliced slivers of beef tenderloin, rocket, parmigiano foam, balsamic, and extra virgin olive oil from the medieval town of Brisighella, known for its distinctive, slightly spicy, slightly bitter flavour profile, which enhances the carpaccio. House signatures of pizza prosciutto di Parma and burrata, tagliolini al tartufo, and lasagna bolognese are all solid recommendations. tortellini artusiani of roasted mixed pork in mini raviolis, bathed in parmigiano reggiano sauce, takes a simple rustic dish to new heights. Choose latterulo al caramello, a Romagna-style crème caramel, for an appropriate finale.
