Spreading Love and Hope: Sririta Jensen Narongdej on Parenthood, Commitment and the Promise Ring Campaign

In an exclusive interview with Koktail Magazine, Sririta Jensen Narongdej shares her thoughts on balancing motherhood and technology, the power of promises and how the Promise Ring campaign, in partnership with UNICEF, supports children in need.

The Promise Ring campaign continues to make an impact with the launch of its latest edition, the Rose Gold Promise Ring.

First introduced in 2023, this campaign has seen support from influential figures including Friend of UNICEF Palitchoke “Peck” Ayanaputra, Kunpimook “BamBam” Bhuwakul, Anne Thongprasom and Mario Maurer. The ring’s design is inspired by a maternity brooch, symbolising protection from mothers to children. Its curved shape represents an embrace of hope and support for children in crisis. Proceeds from this initiative help vulnerable children in Thailand and beyond, providing access to education, nutrition and clean water. Key projects include the Highland Schools Project and the Mobile Library Project. Since 2003 UNICEF Thailand has funded salaries for indigenous teachers in 41 highland schools across Mae Hong Son, supporting over 100,000 children and welcoming 1,000 new students annually. Additionally the Mobile Library Project has delivered books to over 11,600 students in five Thai provinces, Chiang Mai, Tak, Mae Hong Son, Yala and Loei, through 10 library vehicles each carrying more than 1,200 books.

To mark the launch of the Rose Gold Edition, Koktail Magazine had the opportunity to speak with Sririta Jensen Narongdej, one of the campaign’s heroes, about her role as a mother and advocate for children’s welfare.

Personal Nurture: Balancing Parenthood and Technology

As a mother, Sririta values spending quality time with her child. She believes in the importance of consistent engagement to foster understanding and strengthen bonds.

she shared.

In an era dominated by technology, many parents struggle to find balance between digital engagement and traditional activities. Sririta acknowledges that while technology is an inevitable part of modern life, setting clear boundaries is key.

A Commitment to Children: Supporting UNICEF’s Mission

As parents both Sririta and her husband, Korn Narongdej, feel a strong responsibility to support causes that improve children’s lives. Their involvement in the Promise Ring campaign aligns with their values.

Commitment both as parents and as a couple is something they deeply value.

Love with a Cause: A Meaningful Celebration

For Sririta love is not something to be celebrated just on Valentine’s Day.

she said.

She believes that love and compassion are powerful forces for social change especially for children.

With many people exchanging gifts on Valentine’s Day, she encouraged them to consider making a donation to UNICEF.

She hopes the campaign inspired families to both celebrate love within their homes and also extend it to others.

As the Promise Ring campaign continues to grow, it serves as a reminder that love and commitment go beyond personal relationships. They extend to creating a better world for future generations.
