As we find ourselves in the heart of summer, many seek to recharge through travel, embracing the sense of escapism it offers. For some, it’s all about finding moments of peace and relaxation, while immersing themselves in different cultures. Others seek destinations that harmonise with nature, where time slows down and life feels simpler. Let’s hear from Thai celebrities about their favourite places to visit, both in Thailand and around the world.
In Thailand, the charm of its landscapes and cultural heritage creates an environment where serenity and adventure coexist. Many of our favourite celebrities enjoy spending time in the country, with just an hour’s flight or a few hours drive to their favourite escapes for relaxation. It’s time to embrace the beauty of our Thai landscapes.
“Right now, I want to go to Phuket.”
“I love Thai beaches, especially in Phuket – the sea there is stunning.”
“There are plenty of great places in the city. I’d say Chinatown and Old Town, as Bangkok is quite a hotspot for street food. But if I’m looking to explore, I’d head down south to the beaches, either Samui or Phuket. There are many peaceful places to stay, like Krabi or Prachuap Khiri Khan. Chumphon is also nice, and the hot springs in Ranong come highly recommended. In the north, there are many adventurous spots, and the weather is often much cooler than central or southern regions. Chiang Mai is a great option for both peace and adventure, with clubbing options at night. A bit further northeast, I’d recommend Phetchabun and Khao Kho for a peaceful retreat.”
A little secret from us: Dom wanted to mention all the places in Thailand to show support and love for his country. He concludes that the central region is ideal for food, the south for beaches, and the north for waterfalls or mountains, it’s up to you to decide which suits you best.
“For me, if I had to choose my favourite beach, it’s Koh Kood. It’s very quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxation. It’s a place to get plenty of rest, and the beach is very beautiful.”
“I want to go to Chiang Mai, my hometown, especially since they celebrate Songkran with so much fun. With Songkran coming, I feel like it’s the perfect time to go back.”
“For me, it’s the sea, but I also enjoy travelling around Bangkok. It’s so convenient to get around.”
“Mine is Asiatique because I love to sit there and watch the river.”
There are also some who prefer to visit other countries, whether it’s for their favourite moments in the city or their desire to explore new cultures.
“There are a lot of places I want to visit, but best of all, I want to visit Paris the most.”
“It’s Paris because I have so many memories there, and one of them is my first time at Paris Fashion Week. The city is very beautiful, which always makes me want to go back.”
“I personally love Mexico. There are caves, beaches, and waterfalls — I really enjoy all of them.”
“There’s a lot, but if I had to choose, it would be New York. I went there for work, but it turned out that the city’s vibe matched mine.”
“My favourite vacation spot is LA. I visit every year to attend festivals like Coachella and various concerts. The vibe is always so much fun, the weather is perfect, and the food is just right. It’s my way of recharging every April.”
For those who didn’t specify a particular location, their answers revolve around nature, as they find peace and relaxation in natural surroundings. Whether it’s the mountains, beaches, or lush green spaces, being in nature provides a sense of tranquillity and an escape from the hustle of everyday life.
“My dream destination would be the mountains or anywhere with green spaces where I can embrace nature.”
“I like going to the mountains, as I feel it is so quiet and peaceful.”
“I like to go to the beach in my free time.”
“For anyone looking for a place to unwind, I’d recommend going to the beach – it’s my favourite place too. Just being there, listening to the sound of the waves or sitting by the shore, is enough to make me happy.”
