Bangkok to see Arctic Monkeys live for the first time

Bangkok's diehard Arctic Monkey fans have been waiting two decades for this moment

Touring since 2005, Arctic Monkeys are finally making Bangkok a spot for their show this year. For the first time ever, the British rock band will be firing up the Bitec Hall stage on March 9, 2023. They recently announced their Asia tour visiting seven cities: Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka, and Jakarta.

Formed in 2002, the group consists of Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley, and Matt Helders. Their debut album—Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not—was released in 2006 and became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history at the time. It also won Best British Album at the 2007 Brit Awards. Hailed as one of the greatest debut albums, their first single “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” was just the beginning of their musical success and international fame. With a total of seven albums under their belt now, the band has garnered 104 nominations and 42 wins in the industry in total.

Arctic Monkeys' latest album, The Car, was released in October 2022 and builds on the sound from the previous album Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino (2018). Showcasing a wide array of genres, including orchestral rock, lounge pop, funk, and jazz, The Car also draws influence from bossa, soul, and electronic music.

Tickets to ‘Arctic Monkeys Asia 2023’ Bangkok range from 4,000 baht to 7,000 baht and are available at ticketmelon.com.
