Billie Eilish Launches An Ethical Fragrance

The 19-year-old singer dips her toes into the beauty industry with a debut scent, Eilish

Despite the pandemic, Billie Eilish has been busy working her magic. From the release of her latest album Happier Than Ever and the vegan Air Jordans collab with Nike to her first-ever appearance at the MET Gala that was attached with a strong point of view, the young artist is now giving her massive fanbase one more thing to get excited about in 2021. Continuing on her commitment to veganism and animal rights, Billie Eilish is further raising awareness to the issue by launching a fragrance called ‘Eilish’ that’s vegan and cruelty-free.

In case you are wondering, some fragrances do contain animal-derived ingredients, such as musk deer glands, excretions from civet (an African feline) and ambergris, a substance derived from sperm whales—just to name a few. Also, perfumes, like many products in the beauty industry, are often still subjected to unnecessary animal testing for the sake of being able to access more markets. Eilish joins an ilk of modern fragrances that are consciously stepping away from these antiquated practices.

Coming in November, the Billie Eilish Fragrances brand already has its own official website and Instagram account. A vanilla-based fragrance, the inaugural Eilish is composed of notes of amber, cacao, vanilla and warm spices. Following through on its warm and rather romantic identity, the fragrance’s bronze-colored, body-shaped bottle highlights Billie’s favorite spots on the human body: the neck, the collarbone and the chest.
