Hollywood auction heavyweights, Julien’s Auctions, recently announced an auction of coveted music memorabilia to benefit music charity MusiCares. Leading the docket are K-pop group BTS, whose custom Louis Vuitton outfits from their debut solo performance at the Grammys earlier this year will be auctioned in support of the cause.
Their white, black, yellow and orange suits are expected to fetch between USD 30,000 and USD 50,000. Band member J-Hope will also donate three rings he wore at the event—a twisted double band in gold, a single silver band with gemstones, and a spiral gold-colored sterling silver ring. Each is estimated to attract bids between USD 2,000 and USD 4,000.
The MusiCares Charity Relief Auction will take place on Sunday, 30th January 2022 in Beverly Hills, and live online at Julien’s Live. According to Julien’s Auctions, MusiCare is a friend and ally of the music community, established by the Recording Academy in 1989 to safeguard the health and wellbeing of music industry professionals. A four-star charity and safety net in times of need, MusiCare provides a support system of preventive, recovery, and emergency programs to address financial, medical and personal health issues. Through the generosity of donors and volunteer professionals, their dedicated team works across the country to ensure the music community has the resources and support it needs.
Other music stars have donated their own items to the cause, to help the fundraising efforts of the MusiCares Charity Relief Auction. Among the offerings are a dazzling white and gold dress worn by Dolly Parton in 2019, a silver dress worn on stage by Katy Perry in 2010, a jacket worn by Lionel Richie at Glastonbury in 2015 and guitars signed by Machine Gun Kelly and Metallica’s James Hetfield. Among the more than 100 items on offer through the charity auction are clothing and instruments from Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, and many more.
