Saye

Inspired by the ‘80s, Saye is a retro dream of a footwear brand come true. Apart from the aesthetic pastel colorways, Saye’s sneakers incorporate recycled and bio-based materials like corn leather and bamboo. The Spanish brand is focused on becoming a zero-waste brand by planting two trees for each sneaker sold. Their goal is to reach over 200,000 trees by the end of 2021, and so far they’ve planted 145,282 trees.

Maddy Hopper

If prioritize comfort with eco-friendliness, Maddy Hopper is the answer. The brand comes to us from four childhood friends who wanted start a business together with three main concepts in mind: sustainability, function and simple design. Handcrafted in Thailand, their sneakers highlight an earth-tone palette, super comfy insoles and are made for the planet using 100% recycled plastic bottle canvas and natural latex. Apart from sneakers, they also offer socks made from bamboo fiber.

Nike

Nike recently launched a new range of sneakers made from pineapple leather. The brand has partnered with Piñatex, an innovator of cruelty-free leather made from pineapple leaf fibres and other sustainable materials such as cork. The Happy Pineapple collection includes Nike’s iconic Air Force 1 and Air Max 90 sneakers, as well as the Air Max 95 and Air Zoom Type model.

Last month, four iconic Vans sneakers received a vegan makeover for the brand’s new Eco Theory collection, Van’s first ever sustainable line-up. You can now find some of your favorites Vans—the Authentic, the Slip-Ons, the Style 36 Decon, and the SK8-Hi 38 high tops—made with ethically sourced, vegan materials like organic cotton, cork, natural rubber, hemp and water-based inks and glues. Vans says Eco Theory is just the first step in its journey towards sustainable footwear.
