Stella McCartney Joins 'Sex Education' Cast For Breast Cancer Awareness

Toilet, Teeth, Tits

Teaming up with the cast of Netflix’s hit comedy series Sex Education, Stella McCartney marks her seventh annual Breast Cancer Awareness month with a quirky campaign titled Toilet, Teeth, Tits (TTT).

The hilarious (yet informative) three-minute video aims to educate women, especially younger fans of the show, the importance of self breast examinations as part of their getting ready routines, and to dispel myths surrounding breast cancer. To help teach viewers the “three Ts”, she enlisted cast members of the show including Aimee Lou Wood, Chinenye Ezeudu, Sami Outalbali, Mimi Keene, Chaneil Kular and Simone Ashley in the comedic sketch. Alongside the recognizable cast is Stella herself, starring as Ella Allets, an ill-informed ‘80s sex-ed video host sharing incorrect information about breast health. The Moordale students quickly start their own conversation and correct the false information they were being taught in a humorous way.

“We need levity more than ever, and I have always believed in bringing humor to fashion. Now, we are using it as a tool to remind women of all ages to check their breasts, especially younger women who may not be aware they need to, or may have skipped mammograms during lockdown,” said Stella.

Stella is no stranger to raising awareness for breast cancer, having experienced tragic realities firsthand. Stella lost her mother, Linda Louise McCartney, to breast cancer in 1998. The designer has contributed to Breast Cancer Awareness efforts since 2014, through informative global campaigns, donating proceeds from product features to leading support centers worldwide, and launching Stella McCartney Cares Foundation and Pink—a platform dedicated to the early detection, prevention, and treatment of breast cancer through awareness, education, and support. She hopes to increase awareness among younger viewers, tackle taboos, and drive the conversation about early detection so the younger generation incorporates self-checks in their daily routine.

Alongside the sketch, TTT tees have replaced the usual limited-edition Pink lingerie set for 2021, with proceeds supporting the Stella McCartney Cares Foundation and the Linda McCartney Centre at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. Also, for every tee purchased, the brand will donate one free Louis Listening post-mastectomy bra

The tees are designed with pale blue organic cotton and contain heat-reactive dye that turns pink when touched to cheekily remind women to examine their breasts.

With breast cancer being the highest death rate of all cancers, it’s important that all women are correctly informed when it comes to self-checks and what to look for. And what better way to spread the message than with humor?

It’s a simple message we endorse and encourage: add some TTT to your regular routine. Use the Toilet, brush your Teeth, and check your Tits!
