“The World of Studio Ghibli’s Animation Exhibition” is Coming to Bangkok


Studio Ghibli has an important place in the world of animation

Ghibli lovers, save the date for “The World of Studio Ghibli’s Animation Exhibition Bangkok 2023” at CentralWorld on July 1 until September 30, 2023.

Studio Ghibli is known for its high quality of filmmaking and artistry and is one of the most acclaimed animation studios in the world. It has a strong presence in the animation industry and has been well-received by audiences for its whimsical tales with heartwarming stories. Its most recognizable symbol would be a character named Totoro, a giant spirit inspired by raccoon dogs and cats from the 1988 anime film My Neighbor Totoro 1988.

Other popular films include Grave of the Fireflies 1988Kiki’s Delivery Service 1989Spirited Away 2001Howl’s Moving Castle 2004, and Ponyo 2008. The masterminds behind all this are directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, and producer Toshio Suzuki.

Although details of the upcoming exhibition have not been revealed yet, Studio Ghibli exhibitions are interactive, immersive, and feel as if you’ve been transported into the universe of Ghibli. While we wait on the details, we’re guessing that visitors should be expected to see things like giant characters and a recreation of sets inspired by its films dedicated for photo spots, a behind the scenes at Studio Ghibli, and of course souvenirs and good luck charms.

“The World of Studio Ghibli’s Animation Exhibition Bangkok 2023” will be held at CentralWorld Live, 8th Floor on July 1–September 30. Tickets are available via livenation.com. Early Bird tickets will be available on May 2–31 at 490 baht, general tickets are priced at 590 baht, and tickets at the door are 650 baht.
