Phannapast rose to international prominence through collaboration with Gucci on the 'Le Marché des Merveilles' collection in 2017. This partnership was established following her Instagram posts showcasing illustrations of animals dressed in Gucci outfits. Her distinct style, characterised by a fantastical and colourful banquet of whimsical Asian folklore, mythological animals, and nature, is a reflection of her inner emotions and aspects of her personality. After graduating in fashion design from Chulalongkorn University, she worked as a creative director for a fashion brand. However, she realized that illustration provided her with more freedom for self-expression. Phannapast's style, featuring vibrant and feminine outfits, mirrors the aesthetic of her work, breaking down gender barriers. Her Chinese heritage underscores her strong interest in legends and culture, and myths serve as a key to understanding the human psyche, which she explores with abandon in her art. She considers her artwork to be an alternative to a diary, leaving room for questions and interpretation. Additionally, she explores various techniques such as NFTs and lenticular effects.
