Dr Warangkhana Phanwanich, currently serving as the Hospital Director at iVET Animal Hospital, is a graduate of Kasetsart University's veterinary programme. She has made significant contributions to the well-being of animals, particularly through her groundbreaking work with Wheelchair of Pets. As the pioneering founder of Wheelchair of Pets, Dr Warangkhana leads an advocacy group dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled dogs. Her journey has involved a transition from veterinary science to biomedical engineering, where she focuses on creating innovative technologies for pets, including wheelchairs for disabled animals. Despite initial budget constraints, the support from the Prof Dr Chak Pichaironarongsongkram Foundation played a crucial role in enabling the initiative to thrive. Wheelchair of Pets has distributed over 1,500 wheelchairs, organised wheelchair exercise sessions for dogs, and facilitated monthly camps to train volunteers for assisting cats with disabilities. Dr Warangkhana's leadership has helped Wheelchair of Pets grow into a robust network of over 100 active members, including volunteers and mentors. The initiative's "RUN FOR WHEEL" events are vital for fundraising, ensuring the continuous production of wheelchairs and the sustainability of their impactful work.
