Founder of 2050 Productions, Pailin Wedel has made a name within the film industry in a short amount of time. Following graduation from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Pailin developed an interest in all things film and journalism. Working for The News & Observer (USA), she taught herself the art of video production and went on to film documentaries for National Geographic Channel and The New York Times. In 2018, Pailin debuted her documentary Hope Frozen, her first full-length documentary featuring the story of a Thai family seeking to cryogenically preserve their deceased daughter. The documentary became one of the first Thai Netflix Original Documentaries which has won several awards including the International Emmy 2021 for Best Documentary. She hopes her works can become a source for generating healthy conversation while bringing to light controversial issues in need of attention.
