Mook started out creating custom design and production of handwoven home decor items for hotels. She also creates commissioned artworks based on handwoven and upcycling techniques, most prominently a ceiling installation on the theme “River of Kings” for Louis Vuitton’s new concept store at ICON SIAM, a true feather in her cap. She was also responsible for initiating a fashion fabric line for DoiTung brand drawn from her hand weaving know-how from her student days at Central St Martins. The pandemic has forced her to move towards online business and bespoke designs, but she has overcome the challenges with the moral support of her husband, Prinya Ruenprapan, and their triplet sons. Yet in 2020 this prolific lady was able to produce a solo exhibition of upcycled art, “The Sea Ghost and Beyond”, with materials sourced from waste. Zero Waste is her personal and business goal, and she also hopes others will be more mindful of their impact on the environment. Her dream scenario would be to have more green space in the city, and greater respect for women leaders.
