Cindy Kua is co-founder and CEO of digital insurance provider Sunday, a fully-integrated sales and services ‘insurtech’ platform that offers personalised insurance products and services to individuals and businesses through an artificial intelligence-driven risk-prediction model. Sunday was named Best Thailand Fintech at the ASEAN Rice Bowl Start-up Awards 2019 and listed among the InsurTech Fast 50 in Asia/Pacific. Globally, it was recently ranked in the top 100 best insurtech firms in 2020. Cindy has years of experience leading non-life insurance transformation projects and holds an LLB and an MSc in insurance and risk management. Required to make hard decisions in a challenging and fast-paced environment, she pushes her team in its quest to develop online, remote non-life insurance products that range from flight delay coverage to auto and health insurance. Ultimately, through the digital journey she seeks to make health insurance more affordable and sustainable and now she has her sights set on expansion to key Southeast Asian markets including Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
