This London-based costume designer has been working in the film industry for 24 years, and received an Emmy nomination in 2009 for the BBC/HBO production “House of Saddam”. He was the first Thai to win a Victoria and Albert Museum scholarship and undertake a master’s degree course in History of Design at the Royal College of Art. The pandemic changed the way the film industry works especially for costume designers who have to be in direct contact with the cast. To stay updated, he visits museums and checks out fashion blogs and magazines to keep up with current fashion trends, but credits the book Hollywood Costume by Deborah Nadoolman Landis as his biggest source of inspiration. His real-life role model is Jenny Beavan, the 2022 Best Costume Designer Oscar winner (Cruella). Having worked twice with her he hopes to emulate her knowledge in period costuming, and the importance of teamwork, as he moves into a leadership role. With his knowledge of the history of Western fashion through his doctoral research which he shares through lectures, he hopes to be known as a fashion historian as well as costume designer.
