Review

Albricias is beginning to secure a long-term berth in the city's elite selection of dining venues, offering an exciting menu of Spanish and Mediterranean, classics and contemporary dishes. Its innovative take on Spanish cuisine saw it become the first Iberian restaurant in Thailand to receive the prestigious "Restaurantes de Espana Award 2022" from the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX). Certainly, aficionados of traditional Spanish fare will delight in rice dishes made with premium bomba grains that include Grandma Lola's, a combination of toothsome moist rice and slow cooked iberico pork ribs, piquillo peppers, free range baby chicken and Catalan picada sauce. But elsewhere it becomes even more interesting via creations such as a deconstructed version of patatas bravas featuring crispy potato millefeuille, Joselito chorizo, aged Manchego cheese and egg yolk white miso. Other highlights include sous vide octopus, which is grilled and served alongside smoked piquillo romesco and wild garlic salsa verde. Churros will not disappoint, however perhaps choose an El Pina; charcoal grilled pineapple with ginger sorbet and organic flower honey for a surprising finish. The wine list includes a number of interesting Spanish options.

Need to know

This is the place to choose Iberico pork; quite possibly the world's best pork.

Albricias brings joy in the form of Innovative Spanish Dishes

Helmed by Spanish chef Joan Tana Dot, the Bangkok restaurant received a special nod from Spain’s tourism industry earlier this year

Nestled on the fourth floor of Chatrium Residences Sathorn, Albricias is a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant that welcomes diners with fresh ingredients and Spanish recipes like patatas bravas and paellas with innovative twists, as well as perfectly crafted desserts.

The word albricias in Spanish means “joy” and is usually used to describe a bearer of good news. Aptly so, this year, Chatrium’s Albricias became the first Spanish restaurant in Thailand to receive the prestigious “Restaurantes de España Award 2022” from the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX).

“The Russian King”

Walking into the restaurant, you are greeted by nicely spaced out dining tables overlooking the residence’s serene pool area. The lighting is dim, though not dark, further contributing to the dining room’s relaxed setting that’s perfect for a romantic date or an intimate dinner with friends.

Helmed by executive Spanish chef Joan Tana Dot, Albricias offers a refined and exciting Spanish-Mediterranean experience. One of the menu highlights is The Russian King, featuring thick, fresh slices of king salmon, warayaki-style, served with Nikkei potato, guacamole emulsion, yuzu gel, ikura, kikos corn nuts, and crystal bread crostini. Hokkaido scallops a la plancha with Joselito Iberico ham is another delicious option for seafood lovers, while the premium Spanish paella Delta de l’ebre Fukuoka with Iberico pork belly, organic eggplant, nori seaweed, and bonito dashi ponzu is definitely a must is you’ve come to Albricias.

Pair your dinner with a nice Spanish wine from an extensive list of options, and don’t forget to leave room, or make room, for dessert—perhaps the famed Churros con Chocolate or La Torrija, the chef’s favourite childhood dessert that’s a cross between french toast and bread pudding.
