Best Thai Beef is a rustic steakhouse serving exclusively Thai beef, much on offer from various farms in E-San and aged up to 35 days. Chef Matee “Pik” Wala works his magic on an open charcoal grill so diners may catch the action. The menu includes salad and pasta appetiser choices prior to the beef course. Begin with a creamy and earthy mushroom soup, with varieties of Japanese mushrooms, accompanied by a crunchy buttered crouton, or choose smoked salmon carpaccio of delicate slivers and drizzled with olive oil infused with basil and fresh ground black pepper. Caesar salad is well executed, or select a pleasant orecchiette pasta melded with slices of spicy Italian sausage. Penne bathed in a creamy sauce packed with shrimp is a perfect pre-main course. Beef choices include bone-in striploin wagyu, ribeye MB 6/7, and flank steak which chef Pik will cut to order. Steaks arrive with sides, from fluffy mashed potatoes to crunchy French fries, sautéed mushrooms and bacon, Japanese green beans, and a trio of sauces. Burgers using the same premium wagyu beef with onion jam or black truffle mushroom sauce are always available. Salmon, Kurobuta pork chop with green peppercorn sauce, and baby lamb with mint are worthy of consideration. A short wine list, beer, and soft drinks offer ample options.
