Located on Maitri Chit Road, Contento offers European comfort food in a thoughtfully designed interior. Every element, carefully curated by owner Ou Baholyodhin, lends the restaurant its distinct character. The first floor is decked with lemon trees reminiscent of a warm Italian summer, while the second floor is more secluded and intimate. The menu celebrates simple yet refined European flavours. Among the starters, chicken liver parfait is infused with seasonal truffles and a reduction of port wine, sherry and cognac. From the garden, naked tomato salad transports juicy freshness to the table, highlighting marinated Royal Project heirloom and cherry tomatoes paired with house-made farm cheese. Go for the uni crostini of toasted brioche topped with foie gras butter and a tower of sweet, velvety Japanese sea urchin. Among the handmade pastas, fazzoletti pomodoro stands out with delicate handkerchief pasta, coated with fresh tomato sauce and creamy Stracciatella di bufala. For mains, seabass Veronique, perfectly pan-roasted and stuffed with spinach, is served in a silky Vermouth cream sauce complemented with clams and edamame beans. Filetto Rossini showcases medium rare premium Australian tenderloin crowned with pan-seared foie gras and completed with a ribbon of rich red wine veal jus.
