Chef Garima Arora relocated Gaa to a stunning two-storey villa on Sukhumvit 53 in 2021, showcasing both Thai and Indian influences with a taupe colour palette. The dining rooms exude a chic ambience, matching chef Garima’s stylish cuisine. Striking curved ceilings, with a white string installation along the rafters, symbolise the spiritual connection and bliss of people gathered together. The tasting menu balances tradition and modernity with combinations and textures inspired by India’s limitless melting pot of regional cuisines. Pairings are a particular highlight, with an exclusive Champagne only, an exciting wine offering, a soft option, and a comprehensive global wine list. The meal begins with a vibrantly coloured chaat, with sweet, sour, spicy, bitter and umami flavours. Then follows several elegant bites in clay creations, representing the many faces and expressions of Indian food. Memorable dishes continue with gobi paratha, cauliflower bread with house-made butter, blue swimmer crab curry with grilled banana leaves and coconut and green apple ice and A4 wagyu beef kebab, with smoked tofu accompanied by Thai garam masala. This precedes, chef Garima’s unforgettable nod to the tandoori oven, durian with roselle saag, bread and pickles. Dessert includes the stand-out wild mahua flower ice cream.
Pop into the Gaa lounge for a sundowner and bespoke snack.
