Located within the serene and meticulously landscaped grounds of Melia Phuket Mai Khao, GAIA offers an enchanting culinary experience that blends a variety of flavours and influences. The Mediterranean architecture, combined with the soothing ambience of tropical gardens, sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.
GAIA’s menu is a creative fusion of Asian, Mediterranean, and Mexican flavours, crafted with premium ingredients. Begin with crispy calamari, refreshing tomato and burrata salad, or classic platter of cold-cuts and cheese. Alec Gorman Lomas, the executive chef, has created several highly recommended main courses including the perfectly executed el presidente steak, a generous slab of Australian striploin, accompanied by a bright herb-packed chimichurri sauce. Equally impressive is Andaman Sea mixed grill, a seafood lover’s dream, featuring a variety of locally-sourced seafood caught that day. Gambas al ajillo of white shrimps, sautéed with a heady mix of garlic, Italian parsley and chilli flakes in rich and flavourful Spanish olive oil, is accompanied with grilled sourdough, given a delicate char. To conclude the meal, the dessert menu provides ample choice. Traditional mango sticky rice is both a sweet and satisfying finale. With an extensive wine list, there are more than sufficient options to partner the culinary experience.
