Greensmoked, located in an old ice factory, has an industrial chic feel. A warm and casual approach presents a wood-fired menu big on flavours. The menu is varied, with a global selection of pizzas and tempting charcuterie boards all the way to slow-cooked meat classics. Fish crudo is a great place to start, with slices of firm and fresh cobia doused in a yuzu kosho vinaigrette with mango and gooseberry fruits, delivering a sweet and sour palate punch. Wood-fired pizza selections are light accompaniments to the heftier meat options. Barbecued smoked pork ribs offer a generous serving of six house-smoked juicy ribs, a deep and lasting flavour, soft off the bone but firm enough to stay intact whilst finger-licking. The spiced sauce is inspired by US-style deep south tang. Greensmoked also serves up a range of small plate tacos; grilled beef, a sumptuous bite with burnt tomato and pepper salsa complemented by jalapeño pickles and gooey cheddar cheese. As a surprising alternative, roasted cabbage is given a miso glaze and served with crispy shallots and tiger beans; an inventive side dish. The dessert menu presents several sweet-tooth pleasers, including a memory-stirring bread pudding with perfectly balanced caramel and banana sorbet, and a lighter option of meringue with cranberry and blueberry compote drizzled with cream.
