Begin with Khao’s hallmark signature pomelo salad, minced shrimp and chicken, sauteed in a rich, creamy and tangy pomelo, Thai bird chilies, coconut sugar, lime juice and coconut milk, topped with premium river prawns. Continue with Khao’s traditional Thai-style omelette, the egg mixture is packed with chunks of sweet fresh crabmeat elevated with a balance of chopped water spinach and red shallots, pot fried, resulting in a crispy exterior, a lusciously soft interior and a memorable fragrance. For bolder flavours try spicy shrimp paste relish with minced pork omelette and a tower of assorted boiled local vegetables. Lamb shank massaman offers curry paired with fall-off-the-bone meat. A visit to Khao would not be complete without a serving of tom yum goong; there are few places to better celebrate this Thai classic, delicately nuanced layers of flavours and textures.
