Beachside, in the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Resort Hua Hin, in the small town of Khao Takieb, this charmingly renovated two-storey beach pavilion is home to McFarland House. With seating a mixture of some covered and some not, open-air tables to enjoy the balmy sea breeze with gentle, unobtrusive music making this a very pleasant and relaxing place to dine. Rightly proud of their sourcing policy, using as much fresh organic local and sustainable produce as possible, McFarland House serves up excellent seafood, meats, and vegetarian dishes. Lobster bisque is a delectable beginning, lightly spiced and richly decadent, or choose Hua Hin burrata cheese with jamon serrano gran reserva; a classic alternative. For the main course, Australian Rangers Valley beef tenderloin, grilled on lava stone with a choice of sauces and side dishes, is enhanced with an exceptional black pepper and cognac sauce, or pan-fried sea bass accompanied by a mildly piquant fish sauce with a home-grown salad, composed entirely from their own kitchen garden, is crispy and refreshing. Finish with one of several excellent dessert choices including coconut crème brûlée or traditional vanilla ice cream profiteroles with chocolate sauce and orange whipped cream. A respectable wine list with over eighty wines, including a selection from Khao Yai, and a choice of multiple wines by the glass.
McFarland House is locally renowned as a great place to enjoy breakfast.
