Located at Four Seasons Resort, North invites you to savour premium cuts grilled on open flame, supported by local ingredients. Overlooking picturesque rice fields and tended organic produce, it’s as farm-to-table as it gets. The wooden sala restaurant is impressive with an enormous open-fire grill taking centre stage. Lunch and dinner menus present broad selections alongside the focal grill options. Steak tartare prepared tableside with shallots, parsley and capers with mustard egg sauce and beef crackling, sets the scene. For a lighter touch, seared salmon tataki with salmon roe, umami miso and tangy ginger soy dressing is a refreshing seafood alternative, made merrier with complementary restaurant-baked breads and flavoured butters. Gourmet burgers and a range of prime meats are expertly prepared, served with choice vegetables and sauces. Beef connoisseurs will be tempted by multiple top-grade cuts of wagyu. Gulf of Thailand sea bass is the alternative signature dish, served with earthy white miso marinade, pickled cucumber and grilled asparagus to great effect. Choice desserts include panna cotta with raspberry sauce, and chocolate on fire crunchy hazelnut and caramel chocolate cake, ice cream and a shot of Grand Marnier as the mischievous fire starter. With an excellent wine list to surmount, the culinary adventurer would do well to head North.
