Review

At Otto, located within the boutique MUU Hotel, Italian cuisine takes a reverent yet refreshingly modern approach to southern Italian cooking. The philosophy of sharing the Mediterranean love for good food and wine shines through in each dish. Start with the complimentary bread basket: warm sourdough and focaccia set a welcoming tone. Gamberi di Mazara follows, a dish that showcases Sicilian red prawns at their finest. Next up, cacio e pepe is a must for pasta lovers; elevated by the subtle earthiness of black truffle it remains true to its Roman roots and presents a creamy balance of pecorino and roasted black pepper. Seafood lovers will enjoy aragosta, where al dente spaghetti is paired with generous chunks of lobster in garlic and tomato sauce, evoking coastal Italy with every bite. Manzo alla rossini is chargrilled to medium-rare perfection; wagyu beef tenderloin rich and tender enhanced with cauliflower purée and finished with a pan sauce that pulls it together beautifully. For sides, select Italian fries, thin, crisp and lightly salted. Tiramisu is a classic done right, serving exactly what you’d hope for: creamy mascarpone layered with coffee-bathed ladyfingers, striking the perfect balance between richness and lightness. The wine list is well-curated, focusing on Italian reds that match the heartiness of Otto’s menu.
