Something Journey is a gem, set in an attractive rural location overlooking a shimmering lagoon. It features a rustic interior with a barista counter on one side. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the restaurant in natural light, looking out over a wooden deck. The extensive menu features an international selection of dishes, occasionally given an Asian twist and showcasing premium locally grown produce. Begin with a salad, perhaps glass noodles with spicy minced pork and grilled shrimp or classic caesar with moist chicken breast; the attention to detail here is noticeable, the presentation elegant and shows kitchen team care. A local speciality of braised pork follows hung lay curry with omelette rice or chicken in red curry accompanied by crispy roti. Picanha steak sandwich and rack of smoked barbecued ribs with mashed potato puree are well executed and flavour-packed. Sauces are a highlight: ask for a pot of their outstanding chimichurri. Crispy roasted chicken with gravy and pork chop with apple compote shine through each mouthful. For dessert, Thai tea cube croissant with chocolate ice cream and pandan cube croissant with coconut ice cream are homemade and a perfect example of why Something Journey is a destination restaurant. Drinks include a range of milkshakes and smoothies, matchas, freshly cold-pressed juices as well as Chiang Rai coffees and teas.
Arrive to watch the sunset from the outdoor terrace, immersed in lush greenery.
