Tapori offers an inspired journey into India’s culinary and artistic heritage. The restaurant’s interiors blend modern aesthetics with traditional accents, creating a refined inviting setting. Each corner pays tribute to India’s rich visual language, highlighting diverse art forms such as the geometric Warli patterns and intricate Madhubani storytelling. Chef-owner Rohit Sharma’s menu transcends stereotypical Indian fare, drawing inspiration from family kitchens across various regions. Tapori’s culinary selection captures distinctive flavours and regional specialities, ensuring each dish tells a story. For starters, dal pakwan is a Sindhi brunch classic with a playful twist, featuring crisp flatbread dotted with yogurt, coriander, and date chutney sauces, paired with sweet, spicy, and tangy lentils, a clever interplay of flavours and textures. Tabak maas, a Kashmiri delicacy, showcases tender lamb ribs simmered in milk, ghee, and spices, complemented by walnut yogurt dip with apple relish. Tamil Nadu’s kizhi parotta brings subtly spiced chicken wrapped in a banana leaf, served with crisp flatbread and onion yoghurt, and for a taste of Kerala, beef ularthiyathu, a spicy beef chilli fry with chunky coconut and curry leaves, pairs perfectly with flaky roti. Finish with benami kheer, a creamy pudding rooted in the royal kitchens of Awadh, where diners are invited to guess its secret ingredient.
