Tunu Tarnar is a hidden gem in Ladprao for lovers of Italian cuisine, delivering classic dishes with a touch of creativity. Begin with signature lamb tartare, an intriguing change from beef, dialled up with paprika, black pepper and red onion, drizzled with lamb oil and topped with an egg yolk for enhanced texture. Try silky duck liver terrine accompanied by crispy golden-brown toast or choose the restaurant’s namesake salad, delivering a refreshing balance of sweet fruits, crunchy walnuts, and honey, a lighter option packing plenty of flavour. Trio of seared Hokkaido scallops arrives with velvet truffle mashed potatoes and earthy sautéed mushrooms. For pasta lovers, choose homemade ravioli or penne pink sauce with guanciale and a vibrant creamy sauce dotted with ebiko and seaweed. Live Mediterranean lobster spaghetti, finished with brandy, needs advance ordering but is worth the effort. There are various meat options: picanha steak, tender and juicy, surrounded by a green pepper sauce, or an equally recommended tenderloin with port wine sauce and classic potato gratin.
