The eye-catching building and the stairway leading up to the reception tells you Venezia is no ordinary restaurant. The modern Italian furniture, high ceilings and mood lighting create a cosy ambience and sets the scene for Chef Seua (Tiger) and his team to showcase their elevated Italian and European cuisine. The menu features several tempting dishes including the distinctive black ink seafood pizza, a refreshing salmon tartare with lumpfish caviar and a fettucine with pearlescent scallops in a rich cream sauce. Classic dishes remain, such as slivers of beef carpaccio with Parmesan cheese drizzled olive oil and a hint of truffle and piquant gherkins, taking this dish to another level. Mussel arrabbiata is another favourite with a punchy tomato sauce topped with croutons. A decadent lobe of foie gras is cooked to perfection in a refined raspberry sauce. Main courses include wagyu picanha, elegantly presented and melting in the mouth. The smart choice may be pork ribs, marinated overnight then baked with a secret sauce, the meat literally falling off the bone. Complete your evening with a traditional creme brulee with mixed berries, the sweetness of the caramel and fruity acidity, complimenting well. Wine is stored in a walk-in cellar and includes some excellent whites from South Africa and amazing reds.
