Owners And Founders, Kalm Village In Chiang Mai

Industry : Advocacy

Siblings Achariyar “Sai” and Araya “Kruad” Rojanapirom are the owners and founders of Kalm Village, an arts, crafts, and culture centre located in the heart of Chiang Mai old city. The pair strongly believe that art can educate, engage, inspire, and empower people. Built with local materials and upcycled golden teak wood, the village comprises eight buildings, each with different programs designed to bring art into contemporary lifestyles. Community engagement is at the heart of their project, but also a celebration of those who came before us, and those who will come after us. Discovering and furthering valuable local knowledge, wisdom and beauty through means of architecture, objects, food, archives, workshops, dynamic exhibitions, residency programmes, happenings and conversations. Kalm Village creates an inclusive environment for people to expand their relationship to art, to creativity, and ultimately to each other. Both are led by the Buddhist philosophies of keeping your mind at peace, and the impermanence of life. They hint at an exciting international collaboration in the near future.
