President, Rainbow Sky Association Thailand
Industry : Advocacy
Kittinun is a prominent activist, and his association advocates for
access to sexual health services and various rights of LGBTQIA+
people, working with various government offices such as the Ministry
of Social Development and Human Security, the Law Council and
the The Women Lawyers’ Association of Thailand. He chairs the
Sub-committee on Gender Discrimination Diagnosis of the Ministry
of Justice, and was named Social Justice Hero in the Hero Awards
2020 organised by APCOM. He is most proud that he has recently
been able to include gender diversity in the formal school health
education and physical education curriculum. Kittinun also pushed
the draft spouse act into the Cabinet agenda. The main challenge
to overcome in this matter was convincing those of different faiths
that this is a matter of human rights rather than merely a gender or
religious issue. His next goal is to provide legal acceptance and
equal rights for transgenders, and eventually to eliminate all forms of
gender discrimination in Thailand.
