PRESIDENT, THAI HOTELS ASSOCIATION
Industry : Business
Marisa, in her own words, is a hotel owner, vocalist, mom, wife, foodie, art/culture/nature lover, and world traveler. She entered the hotel industry by default, being the eldest child of a hotelier. As the Executive Vice President of the family-owned Sukosol Hotels, Marisa oversees the day-to-day operations of the hotel group. She took on the role of President of the Thai Hotels Association (THA) just at the start of the Covid pandemic, which devastated the hotel industry. Prior to this, she chaired the THA Environment Committee, a position for which she was well-suited, given that all her hotels are certified as “Green Hotels.” In 2017, she founded the Chao Phraya River Business Community and We Love Chao Phraya Community, and successfully opposed a BMA plan to build a highway along both sides of the Chao Phraya River. Studying art history at Columbia University, she had dreams of a singing and acting career, though she still gets to share her powerful Broadway voice with audiences at charity concerts. Marisa was recently honored with the IWTA Hall of Fame Award in the Travel Daily’s Inspiring Women in Travel (Asia) Awards 2023.
