Founder, Teens of Thailand & Asia Today Bar
Industry : Business
Niks has a grievance against Thailand’s laws banning alcohol advertising, which may be fine to some except for the fact that
the fines for alcohol advertising are up to five times higher than drunk driving fines which he finds definitely warped. As a result, he set up the Art & Culture of Alcoholic Beverages Association of Thailand (ACAB) comprising people in the alcohol business in an attempt to petition Parliament to change Section 32 which bans alcohol advertising. His establishments are all young and trendy, such as the cocktail catering company Vice Versa, Thailand’s first gin bar Teens of Thailand, and Asia Today Bar, which focuses on sustainably grown ingredients and local wild honey. He is also behind the highly popular Bangkok Gin Festival and the Bangkok Bar Show. During Covid, Niks moved into the non-alcohol field with Left Handed Roasters, a community-driven Thai coffee brand, and most recently, became co-owner of Issan Rum distillery based in Nong Khai province. His role model is the late wildlife activist Seub Nakhasathien.
